after such deposit thereof, by notice in writing to be sent to tbe person on whose behalf the proposed work is to be done, at the address so stated, require a fuller or more accurate plan or specification to be deposited in lieu thereof Notification from Borough Inspector. 4. No deviation affecting any matter coming within the scope of this By-law shall be made from any plan or specification that shall have been deposited as aforesaid after the Borough Inspector shall have given such certificate as last aforesaid, unless a notice in writing clearly specifying the intended deviation shall first have been deposited at the Boroiiglrlnspectors-b^^ have.nqtified in writing under, his^aud -that §uch deviation is in accordance with-' this- B^lkv/J HM O . O ,(.'v\ Commencement of Works. 6. In no case shall. the work bo commenced until the Borough Inspector shall have certified as aforesaid that the same is in accordance with' this By-law. Form of Certificate. 7. Such certificates by the Borough Inspector may be in the form given in the first schedule hereto. Register of Plans, &c. : ' '■'< ' 8. The Borough Inspector shall keep a book in which he shall enter the dates on which all plans, specifications^ arid notices shall be deposited, under clause 3 hereof, and such book shall be prima facie evidence of the truth of the statements therein made. Removal of Plans, &>c. ■-. < 9. Plans and specifications deposited under clause 3 hereof may be removed from the Borough Inspector's office after he shall have certified that the work referred to therein is in accordance with this By-law; but the person on whose behalf the work is to be done shall, within twenty-four hours after notice in writing to that effect shall (at any time before or within six calendar months after the completion of the work herein referred to) have been given to him by the Borough Inspector, produce, or cause to be produced, to the Borough Inspector for inspection or perusal by him, for the purposes of this By-law, the said plans and specifications, or such of them as he shall in writing require. And every person for the time being having any plan or specification which shall have been deposited as aforesaid in his custody or power (whether as architect, builder, mortgagee, or otherwise), before or within six calendar months after the completion of the work therein referred to, shall upon the like notice being given to him by the Borough Inspector, produce, or cause to be produced, the same to the Borough Inspector for the purpose aforesaid ; but this last provision shall not relieve the person on whose behalf the work is to be done, or from liability under the preceding part of this clause. PABT 111. EXTERNAL AND PARTY WALLS AND ROOFS. External and Party Walls. 10. The external walls and party walls of all buildings to be hereafter erected within the said Borough, and of all additions to be made to all buildings already or hereafter to be erected within the Borough, shall be constructed, and the external walls and party walls of all buildings and additions to buildings, whether already or to be hereafter erected or made within such Borough, shall be added to (whether in length, breadth, or height), altered, renewed, or repaired, only of the following materials, and in the following manner, that is to say: — (a) Of the materials and in the manner hereinafter specified ; or (b) Of brick, stone, or concrete of the thickness described in the said second schedule; and rising not less than eighteen inches above the roof (measured as aforesaid) in the case of party walls and of external walls within six feet of tiie boundary of any adjoining premises ; and (c) Of the materials and in the manner described in sub-clause [b). (d) Provided always that any external wall riiay be erected of timber studdings of the dimensioris given in the following clauses, the space between studs to be brick-nogged or filled in with concrete or other incombustible material, the ; outside of such wall to be covered with galvanised iron or rusticated boards such boards to be sanded, and such brick-nogging or concrete or other material as aforesaid to fill up the whole space between the studs, and between the inside lining arid the om\side covering. External walls and party walls not raised in brick, stone, or concrete shall have timbers of the following area in cross sections: — For buildings not exceeding twelve feet from bottom plate to top plate 4x2, eight inches, and spaced not more than sixteen inch centres. For buildings exceeding twelve feet and not exceeding twenty-five feet from bottom plate to top plate, if in single wall, twelve inches, spaced not more than sixteen inch centres. If in two storeys — Lower storey, twelve inches; upper storey, eight inches, or ten inches throughout. For buildings exceeding twenty- five feet and not exceeding thirty-five feet from bottom plate to top plate, if in two storeys — Lower storey, fourteen inches; upper storey, twelve inches, and spaced not more than fifteen inch centres. If in three storeys — Lower storey, fourteen inches ; intermediate, twelve inches ; upper, eight inches, and spaced not more than fifteen inch centres. - In buildings exceeding thirty-five feet and not exceeding forty -five feet from bottom plate to top plate, if in three storeys — Lower storey, sixteen inches ; intermediate, fourteen inches; upper, twelve inches, and spaced not more than fourteen inch centres. If in four storeys — Lower storey, sixteen inches; first, fourteen inches; second, twelve inches ; upper, eight inches, and spaced not more than fourteen inch centres.
