Sudden Deaths

Thomas Cook, son of Mr William Cook, of Manchester street, died yery suddenly this morning. It appears that when very hot, he drank a quantity of water, sometime during yesterday, which brought on inflammation internally. Dr. Charlton was called in, but the young man was not able to stand the shock to the system, and expired this morning as stated above. Information has been received in town this morning, to the effect that a girl, nine years of age, the daughter of Mr Samuel Graham, of Apiti, died somewhat suddenly yesterday. The little one had been suffering from measles and bronchitis. A married Maori woman living in a hut with her husband at Parawanua huDg herself some time yesterday. No further particulars have yet come to hand.
