SULPHUR AND DIPHTHERIA.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. \ Sir,— l received your paper of the J 3rd inst., with enclosed paragraph on the above subject, and in reply beg to inform you that I have made enquiry on the subject. Dr A. Ginders says, "That ' he never had or heard of a case of diphtheria during his 10 years' residence here. There have been cases of quinsy and other mild forma of throat diseases, but in all cases ihey could be traced to being imported in the district." Further, I would call your attention to a paragraph under the heading, " Medical Notes," in the supplement to the New Zealand Herald of Saturday, lfith inst., where ordiuary petroleum is shown to be wonderfully efficacious in the treatmeet of diphtheria. Trusting that the above may prove interesting to you, and beneficial to suffering bumauity, I am, etc., C. Malfroy. Rotorua, Sept. 20th, 1593.
