The Cricketers' Union.

The adjourned meeting of the above was held at the Manchester Hotel on Saturday last. The following delegates were present :— Messrs Palmer and Byrne (Birmingham), Reade and Burlace (Feilding), Halliday and Lambert (Union Club, Palmerston North), Bishop, (Carapbelltown), Lance and Tompkins (Halcombe), Edwards and Walker (Sandon), and Miller (Colyton). Mr Reade was voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary (Mr Tompkins) stated that Mr Lance had offered £5 and another member of the Halcombe Club had promised £1 towards the Challenge Cup. It was resolved that Mr S. Strachan be asked to draw up a list of match fixtures for the ensuing season, and that the printing and arranging of the bye-laws be left in the hands of Mr Tompkins with power to have any number printed which he might think requisite. Resolved, That committee meetings be held on the last Saturday in each month, at 6.30 p.m., in Feilding. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Marton Club, asking them if they intended to join the Union. The season is to commence on the Ist of October. Mr Halliday said a second club would most probably be formed in Palraerston, and he thought they would join tho Union. The Secretary stated that Mr Wilson had accepted the Presidency, and the Rev. Innes Jones and Mr Lance the vice-Presidency of the Association. The colours were fixed to be lightblue headgear and sash. This was all the business, and the meeting adjourned.
