(Br Cbackshot.) In mv notes of a few days ago, I did the Palnierston Jockey Club an injustice, for which I now sincerely apologise, and quote the following from the Rules of Racing : — No. 23— Iu no such programme shall the amount of added money be less than the net commission estimated to be received from the totalisator (having regard to the amount received as com* mission at any corresponding meeting) exclusive of all amounts received from, owners for nominations and acceptances. The intention of this rule being that the minimum net amount giTen to owners in the way offtakes, shall be, at least, equal to the sum received from the totalisator." It will thus be seen that the Palmerston Club were obliged to give the extra amount; in stakes to comply with the above rule. In tact the Metropolitan Club referred their programme back for revision, and it had nothing whatever to do with the auiouut of stakes given by the Feildiug Club.
