BIRMINGHAM STOCK SALE. There was a very large attendance at the Farmers' Alliance Birmingham sale yosterday afternoon, when about 100 head of cattle and 300 sheop were jardod. The bidding was slack, but all the lots were disposed of after the sale excopt one pen of sheop. The prices roalisod wore as follows: — Bullocks, £4 10s; woaners, to 18. months old, £2 10s ; springing heifers, £4 10s to £6 10s; cows 'in calf, £3 10s; hoggets, Us. Messrs Gorton and Sou'o report— The heavy Hoods in the river on Tuesday prevented some of the sheep coining forward at our Bulls sale, but uood entries of cattle were yarded. Competition was keen for beef, hoggets sold well. Store cattle maintained recent rates and some not reaching reserve were turned out unsold. Our quotations are as under : — Cattle — Fat bullocks £7 12s ; 55-year steers £'4 12s 6d ; weaners mixed 25s to 27s 6d. Siieep — Fat wethers los 3d ; hoggets 10s 9d to 10s lOd. Pigs— Porkers los. Messrs Freeman E. Jackson and Uo.'s Johnsouvillo report.— The bullocks yarded yesterday were of good quality, with the exception of one or two pens. The prices wore the same as last sale We had some prime wethers penned ; the bulk were medium and inferior. No pigs came forward. Wo quote :— Cattle. —Best bullocks, JL'S on to £0 10s ; others, £1 2s u'd to JL'S, or equal to 21s the lOOlbs. Sheep. — Primo wethers, 18s 4d ; others Hs to los ; ewes, 13s Gd to 13s l()d.
