Stock Markets
Messrs Abraham and Williams report on the stock market as follows : — At our Pahiatua sale on the 6th met we had a full entry of cattle, but only one or two pens of sheep. Young cattle of both sexes brought full value, as also did fat cattle. Dairy cattle receded m value, with the exception of Mr Beichenbach's dairy cows which produced spirited bidding. Hoggets advanced with a strong and unsatisfied demand. The following prices were rea* Used:— Fat steers, £6 10s to £7 16s; 3-year steers, £4 Ids to £5 6s 6d ; 2»year ditto, £3 4s 6d to £3 7s ; mixed yearlings, £2 8s 6d to £2 19s ; calves, Sis to 365. Mr Beicbenbach's cows, £5 8s to £9 ; others, L 3 10s to Ld 15s. Sheep. — Fat and forward ewes, 9s 6d to 10s 7d ; hog* gets, 9a 7d to 10s. Horse and trap, L2O. For the farm L 8 10b was offered and refused, as the offer was not in accordance with the vendors' ideas.
