Financial Crisis in America
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Washington, September 11. A private letter received from Virginia merchants says the United States are passing through the most serious financial panic experienced since 1873. Banks throughout the country are refusing to pay currency for any cheque greater than £1000, which has put employers of labour in a very awkward position. The Repeal of the Sherman Silver Act will restore confidence, for the country is in a sound condition, and the finest crops eyer grown are about to be harvested.
