WRECK OF A SCHOONER. N.Z.L. AND M. COMPANY. A BUILDING SOCIETY TO BE RE-CONSTRUCTED. FATAL EXPLOSION ON BOARD A STEAMER. (per press association.) Stdnet, This Day. News from the Islands state the American schooner Fleur-de-Lys foundered off Butaritari. The crew were saved. Mklboubnb, September 10. The General Manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company has received advice from London that the draft scheme of reconstruction has been completed and received the approval of the various groups interested. The chairman ot the Victorian Permanent Building Society states it is not intended to pay creditors in full. The scheme of reconstruction of the institution was uuanimously adopted Adklaidk, September 10. On a large cargo steamer, the Hazel Branch, bound to Melbourne, while off Kangaroo Island, a terrific explosion took place in the lazarette. The boatswain had gone down with a lighted lamp, and some anti-fouling composition, which had broken loose, generated gas, which exploded. The boatswain was killed, and the vessel so damaged that the afterhold filled with with water. She reached Port Adelaide with difficulty.
