Legislative Council.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, September 6. The Council met at 2.30. The Cheviot Estate Disposition Bill was read a second time. The Banks and Bankers Act Amendment Bill was put' through its final stages without amendment. After a lengthy debate, Dr Pollen's amendment on the Liquor Bill was lost by 20 to 17 and the second reading agreed to, committal being set down for next day.
