"Dick Whittington and his Cat."
A contemporary thus refers to the acting of the .young ladies taking part in the above play this evening : " Miss Fanny lvess gave an excellent portrayal of the poor and despised boy. Miss Maud lvess cannot be too highly complimented on tho four characters played by her — the cook, a realistic piece of acting ; the captain, sustained to the very lite; Dame Homely, excellently portrayed, and the countryman, rendered in really fine style. Miss Lizzie lvess, played two characters with the confidence and übandun which is a great feature in ensuring success. Miss Katie Hamilton, sustained her parts to the life. Her sympathy with poor Dick in his troubles and triais was well appreciated by the audience. Tho piece went smoothly from first to last without a hitch, and great credit is due to the Misses Iveas for the trouble, care, and attention they must have displayed in the production of the piece."
