To-day's N.Z. Times says : — Mem bers were electrified lust night by the appearance in one of (he galleries of two gorgeously-arrayed strangers. Mr Car* roll was interrupted in a speech by the buzz of interest, and the general awakening on the benches. One member culled attention to the presence of |strangers in the galleries. Another affected to scrutinize them closely, and then declared that they were members of the House. The explanation was that Messrs J. Mills and G. Hutchison had been at a fancy dress ball, and had come to Parliament with all their apparel on. Later on, when the bell rang to summon a quorum, Mr Hutchison, who wore a Mexican dress, walked in with a group of members from the lobbies, took a seat on the bench usually occupied by Mr Fisher, and then, after an< thcr profound bow to . the Speaker, walked out again. The scene looked remarkably like the result of a wagrr.
