Wellington Land Board

The following applications for tides were approved : — Section 284, Block XIV, Onao, H. Murray; section 12, Block XIII, Ongo, T. H Bredin; section V, Block 11, Pohanginu, C H.Bayles; section 44, Block XI, Apiti, R. anil R. Oldham; section 14, Block XI, Apiti, D. S. and F. S. Tjerman ; section 12. Block VIII, Apiti, A. Knvvett ; section 22, Block VII. Apiti. C. Churcher; section 5, Block XL Apiti, G. Gould ; section 13, Block XI, Apili. F. S. Good be here; section 89. Block XIV. Apiti, R. Scarron. The following applications to capitalise were granted: -E. G. Roper, section 41, Block IV. Ongo ; E. Roper, section 43, Block IV. Ongo; F. Newman, section 72, Block IX, Pohangina ; F. £?. Goodbeliere, section 13, Block XI, Apitt. A short discussion arose in reference to the aggregation of sections in Waituna taken up by Mr G. V. Shannon and family, which comprised 530 acres of first-class land, but the title was granted. — Deferred till next meeting, when Mr •Shannon's attendance will be requested. The declaration from Donald Clark, in reference to his late son's section at Umutoi was accepted, and transfer to H. Hines to be approved upon the formal application being maHe. The Commissioner stated that tho Island of Maim had been reserved for defence purposes, as it commanded the entrance to Porirua Harbor. At present it was let for L 52 a year. It was decided to lease the lend for fourteen years, weighted with LSO for improvements. Mr G. Green is to be asked to effect double improvements on section 1500, Bunnythorpe. A large number of notices were ordered to be sent to settlers in arrears with im» proveruents. On the Commissioner's suggestion, it was decided to ask the Government to set aside, for ordinary selection, 66,000 acres on the Waituarino Block The Board adjourned at 8 p.m.
