(FEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) I Wellington, August 29. The Rev. A. M. Bradbury has resigned the position of Curate of St. Mark's Parish, having accepted a similar appointment under rhe Dean of Waiaptl in Napier. His successor will be the Rev. Otho Fitzgerald, the youngest son of the Controller-General. Mr R. H. J. Reeves, ex-member for Inangahua, has sent the following reply to resolutions passed at a meeting held in Reefton on Saturday : — " Stout cannot in honor stand for Inangahua against me. I regret very much the action you have taken. Surely the number of years I have faithfully served the district deserves more consideration at your hands. I intend contesting the seat against all comers, and confidently trust to the well known spirit of fair play that characterises my old constituency." The police to-day made a raid on a fish shop kept by an Italian in Upper Cuba street and % large quantity of bottled beer and stout was seized. The proprietor, Milanti, will be charged with sly-grog selling. Chbistchubch, August 29. A deputation representing the Temperance party waited on Sir Robert Stout this evening, and presented him with a requisition signed by 884 persons, asking him to contest one of the Christchurch Beats. Sir Robert asked to be excused from giving a decided answer at present. Rbbfton, August 29. The representation of Inangahua is causing much excitement here at present. From telegrams received from Sir Robert Stout and Mr Reeves, it appears that the latter is determined to stand against all comers, and refuses to stand aside for Sir Sobert Stout.
