BCENE OP GREAT EXCITEMENT. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Washington, August 29. In the House of Representatives, on the announcement of the division on the Bill to repeal the Sherman Silver Act, a scene of the wildest excitement took place, and there is a universal belief that the Senate will now bo compelled to pass the Repeal Bill. The Secretary of the Treasury has ordered the mints in Philadelphia and San Francisco to com gold to their full capacity. The defeat of the ratio amendments is regarded as fatal to the hopos of the bimeUlhsts. Though Senator Vorhio's Bill ifl in furor, to lomo extent, of hi met alJHio, it is believed the silver men mil ! now endeavour to force a compromise between Vorhie's and Wilson's Bills.
