Correspondence
(We are not responsible for the opinions of our correspondents.) COMPLAINTS. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I sincerely hope that the incident mentioned in your last Saturday's issue, namely, that of some larrikins throwing pepper in during the dance through the side door of the Assembly Rooms, will not be allowed to blow over without strenuous efforts being made to catch the offenders. A joke is right enough, but this was rather too much, considering that nearly everyone in the room, who was dancing, was affected by it. Several people, including myself, had I often to stop dancing from the terribly choking effect of popper in the throat. If such dirty tricks as these are allowed to pass by, it will soon not be safe to go anywhere without being annoyed by larrikins. — I remain, etc., AntiLahbikinism. Feilding, 29th August, 1893.
TO THII KDITOIt OP TIIK STAH. Sib, — I think that the person who took the liberty of calling a meeting at the Foresters' Hall Unt night, without first asking the permission of the Good Templars Lodge, might have had the ! decency to wail until the business of the said lodge was over, or otherwise paid for the use of a Hall —I aqi, etc., A. W. Anderson, Manchester Street. Feilding, August 30th. 1893.
