Gorton and Son's stock report: — La>t week- we had a moat successful sale of contractors plant, at Feilding, belonging to Messrs Younger and Lamg. The 8 draft horses were brought before the public in excellent order, much to the credit of the vendors, and they realized higher prices than we remember for many years, viz., from £26 to £38 10s — the average being £31 2s 6d. The plant was in good order and brought capital price. 1 ?, the pile-driving machine being the only article of value not sold, the bidding not reaching half its cost. Good entries came forward at our stock sale, at Feilding, on Friday. All the sheep were sold at and after the sale, excepting one item, and most of the cattle Our quotations are : — Cattle — Fat Bullocks, £7 12s 6d ; fat cows, £6 83 6d ; 2 year heifers, £4 10s to £5 ; heifers in calf, £4 Is; 2J year steers £4 17s; 2 to 2k year steers, £A Is 6d ; milkers in calf, i's 2s. Sheep — Store wethers 11s 9d to 12s ; ewes in lamb, lls ; mixed hoggets, 10i to 10s 4d ; wether hoggets, lls Id. Pigs, lls to 17s 6d. Owing to heavy slips and bad roads we haye decided not to hold our sale at Hunter ville on September 2nd. . Cunningham, Badham and Co.'s, Wellington, weekly horse sale report : — Good upstanding harness horses are still enquired for, and a few heavy draughts could be easily placed. Half-draughts sold at from £14 to £16, and young upstanding harness horses are easily quitted at from £16 to £18. Higher prices can be got for any animal of exceptionally good quality. Light harness horses are worth from £8 to £12, aud weedy hacks from £3 to £6. At our clearing sale last Thursday, on account of Mr James Farrington, of Silverstream, (Upper Hutt), good prices were realised, everything going under the hammer to the highest bidder.
