[FHOM OVa OWN CUBBESrONDENT.] The Primitive Methodist Church anniversary services were held here on Sunday last. The Rev G. Carr officiated, and large congregations were present both in the morning and evening. A very largely attended meeting was held yesterday evening, at which Mr Glover presided. Addresses were delivered by the Revs. Watkin, Carr, and Clement, and Messrs J. C. Thompson and Stokes. The Chairman stated that the balance in hand, after providing for all expenses during the past year, was X' 24s Id A very interesting ceremony then took place, when Mr John Murray, on behalf of the members of the choir and congregation, presented Miss A. Jarvis, tho organist, with a handsome illustrated family bible, as a slight appreciation of the services rendered to the church by that lady. Mr J. C. Thompson suitably responded for the recipient, who was taken quite by surprise, as the presentation had been kept a secret beforehand. A number of items were rendered by the choir, under the conductorship of Mr 11. Arnold, Miss Jarvia presiding at the organ. The following resolution was passed with acclamation : "That this meeting strongly protest against any alterations of tho Licensing Bill, introduced by tho Government, which would havo the effect of preventing tho people from exercising a full control of the liquor trafh'c." A very successful meeting was concluded by the singing of the doxolotry.
