The annual match between the Wanganui and Manawatu representatives took place at Palmerston on Saturday, and ended in a victory for the Manawatu representatives by 16 to nil. ln the first spell the game was fairly even, and no score was made, although the visitors had the advantage of a strong wind. In . the second term the local men had all i the best of the game, and tries were scored by Matravers, Jewell, Weston, and Woon (2), two of which wero converted by Jewell. The following team has been chosen for the junior representatives :—Full- ■ back, Broughton ; three quarters, Hatha- • way, Richards, Rock ley ; halves, Stinson, . Isherwood, Cameron ; forwards, Greig, , Bethwaite, Desmond, Whisker, Porrin, Prendergast, Aitkeu, Ayres. Emergen* s cios— Backs, Hewitt, Parr; forwards, i Heigh ton, Rakena, Bennett. The team is not tho best that could hare beeu choseu. Hunterville, although they won the Junior Cup, have not a single representative in the team. Surprise is ci« pressed at the non -inclusion of Rickards, undoubtedly the best three»quarter iv the Mauawatu. This is a matter for the Selection Committee to consider. The Manawatu senior reps, have ar* ; ranged a match with Hawke's Bay. to be played at Palmerston on the 4th of September. The annual match between Wellington 1 College and Christ's College, played at Christchurch on Saturday, was won by the Intter bj 13 to S. Auckland beat tho Hokianga Maoris by 20 to 0. The final game of the Association tournament was played at Petone on Saturday, when Otago beat Auckland by four goals to one. The Manawatu- Wanganui junior rep, maich will be played at W&nganui on Kith September, The aunual match between New South? Wales and Queensland was won by the former by 14 points to nil. The Taranaki" Wauganui match will be played at Hawera on the 9th September.
