(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, August 26 Yesterday's petition for the liquidation of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company was made by a friendly credit tor, and the application lodged on behalf of the company for the hearing of the petition to be postponed for a month was to enable the company to complete tho arrangements for reconstruction, which it is understood are progressing satisfactory. Cable advices have been received at Auckland from London, stating that (ho reconstruction scheme of tho Loan and Mercantile Agency Company will he mado public in a few days.
