PROCEEDINGS TAKEN AGAINST BANK OFFICIALS. (FEB FBESS ASSOCIATION.) Sydney, August 19. The Act prohibiting the use of post offices for conduct of sweeps and lotteries is now in force. Melbourne, August 20. Further proceedings iv connection with the Mercantile Bank has been taken, and yesterday Mr Loriuier, J P., granted informations against the auditors, manager, and directors, except Sir Graham Berry, an the charge of issuing a false balance-sheet.
