A BIG SCORE. THE AUSTRALIANS AT TilE WICKETS. A MISERABLE DISPLAY OF BATTING. JI'KR FHKSS ASSOCIATION.! London, August 15. The attendance on the second day wm very large. The weather was splendid, but hot aud sultry. The Englishmen made 183 runs in their first innings. Tho Australians upon going to tho wickots in ado a misorablo display and were all out for 91— Lyou 19, Trott 0, Bannorman 10, Graham 0, Gregory 9, Giffin 4, Trumblo 5, McLeod 2, Tumor 7, IHackham, run out 17, Bruce, not out 13, extras o ; Briggs took five wickets for 33, Loekwood four for 37. The bowling and fielding of the Englishmen were excellent, especially Macgregor's wicket keeping. The Sporting Life says the Colonials missed six catches, and lost a number of chances owing to slovenly fielding. The Morning Leader, however, praises Graham for his brilliant fielding.
