He had previously resided iv Dunedin. Gisbobnb, This Day. John Richardson, convicted of rape on a very old Maori woman, was sentenced by Judge Connolly to eight years' penal servitude. It is reported that the authorities in Wellington have ordered Wallath to be kept in irons till his trial.
