Amongst the winning owners the Canterbury sportsman, Mr G. G. Stead, heads the list with L 3172 Mr L. D. Nathan comes next with L 3038, which position he mainly owes to the brilliant deeds of St. Hippo; and then follows Mr W. RathboDe with L233O, Merganser being the chief earner. Owing to the wet weather, work at Ellerslie has been seriously interfered with. St. Hippo, Royal Rose, The Workman, and Pegasus bare ail been regular attendants, though their work has been of a very mild character.
