Tin tea and Gondolier were sent at half pace, ns was Despised. Waterbury and Mutiny gal* loped over two circuits fast, the former, if anything, being the better. Viclrix galloped twice fast with Clanranald. Norton and Kulmne were kept at half pace, and Clarence likewise was not ex'ended. Dunkdin, August 5. The coursing meeting concluded today. The Champion Stakes was won by Mr Price's Cardigan. Isinglass, who is the hottest favovrite' so far ns odds are concerned, that has ever got home first in the English Derby is likely to start for the St. Leger in a like position, as at last advices odds of 5 to 4 were being freely laid on his ability to win. Amongst the winning owners the Canterbury sportsman, Mr G. G. Stead, heads the list with L 3172 Mr L. D. Nathan comes next with L 3038, which position he mainly owes to the brilliant deeds of St. Hippo; and then follows Mr W. RathboDe with L233O, Merganser being the chief earner. Owing to the wet weather, work at Ellerslie has been seriously interfered with. St. Hippo, Royal Rose, The Workman, and Pegasus bare ail been regular attendants, though their work has been of a very mild character.
