PRICE OF BREAD.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I notice that the Wanganui bakers have reduced the price' of bread to 2d the 21b loaf cash, and I think the Feilding bakers may very well follow their example. Flour is now quoted in Wellington as follows, viz : Prime roller £8 to £8 ss, stone £7 5s to £7 , 10s, and yet the price of bread is the ? same as when flour was £10 to £12 a ton. If they can afford to reduce the price in Wanganui why cannot they , do so in Feilding 1 ? I am, etc., . , Staff of Life. Feilding, August 2, 1893.
