A COMPLAINT. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sib,— .On.theMaJdno-Boad opposite-' Mr Knowles' farm is a felled rata tree of a very peculiar and ugly shape. / This tree is the terror of many horses travelling the road. About ,6 . .months „.„. ago a hawker driving a pair of horses in a covered van, after safely journeying from Marton, came to grief there. The road at this place is very narrow and the tree lies within a .yard of the. wheel track, while on the other side -is^ » ditch about 6 feet wide and 5 deep, and into this ditch the van capsized. Six neighbors were got together and by unloading everything the trap yraa after hard work got back on the, road. Three months ago, two young men , driving a dogcart were also upset at i the same place and by the same tree ; and this morning a farmer's horse: r shying at the place got fixed in the $ { tree and assistance had to be got , before he could move. I think, the. - » Road Board should have tne tree re- ' moved before they have to pay lor ) some accident. I am, etc.. - . , I Farmer. ••.-., , Feilding, August 2, 1893. ""'.'. ■
