Conference of Trades and Labor Councils

(PEK PHKBS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, August 4. A conference of delegates from the Trades and Labour Councils in New Zealand opened to-night. Those present were : Auckland, the Hou. W. Jennings, M.LC, W. Worth, and F. Rycroft; Punedin, D. Pinkerton, M.H.R. ; Christchurch. E. Sandford, M.H.R., and R. Kerr; Southland, J. W. Kelly, M.H.R. ; Wellington, A. Ward (vice-president of the Trades and Labour Council) and A. Collins. Mr Ward was elected chairman, and he welcomed tho delegates. Among the questions to be discussed is the federation of the Trade and Labor Councils of the colony. The proceedings were not open to the press.
