O?EB PBEBB ASSOCIATION). Auckland. Auguit 2. The Waikato river is heavily m flood at Taupin, within three feet of the flood of 1875, and it is still rising. A slip has occurred on the railway line near Taupm and heavy damage has been done to the roads all over the district. Mr W. Bickett, of Banginwhia, Wai. kato, was found dead on the roadside close to his home. He bad been in the township, in good health and spirits, and left on horseback for his home ia the afternoon. His horse was found tied to a farm gate and his body in the tern close by. At a meeting of the "Women's Franchise League a resolution was carried urging the Auckland members to vote for the Woman's Franchise on its coming up again in the House. Nelson, August 1. Mr Joseph Granger, a settler, waß found dead on the road near Tophouse. His death was evidently the result of a trap accident, which must haye occurred some days before the discovery.
