Morris charged the licensee of Waiu's Hotel with refusing to provide accommodation. It was shown that Morris, on a provious occasion, had misbehaved himself, and was ordered to loavo tho house. Tbo Magistrate dismissed the case, holding that if a man went to a respoctablo hotel he must behavo in a respectable manner. The funeral of Mr C. 0. Fischer's little girl took place in the Feilding Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev. A. j Hermon conducted the service at the grave, aud Mr W. G. Shearer was the undertaker engaged. It is only when affliction tries a man that he then discovers who are his best friends, and Mr Fischer has met with many neighbours, and others, who have deeply sympathised with him and his wife in their trying bereavement, and have done all in their power to sustain the sorrowing parents in their great trouble. We notice that Mesßrs McLean & Bishop have moved into their new offices in the Kimbolton road, adjoining those of Mr Greenwood the dentist, who, we understand, will shortly be coming to reside among us, owing to the dissolution of partnership between Messrs Greenwood & Uooper. Mr Greenwood will, in future, visit Feilding every week from Thursday to Saturday, inclusive. Mr Hooper also notifies bis intention of coming here every week on Thursdays and Fridays, and may be found at his new office in the Square, next to Mr Cobbe's store. The establishment of a dining-car in connection with tho express service on tbe Manawatu Railway has proved such a success that the company have decided to place a larger carriage on the line The new car, which will be twice ns long as the one now in use, is being fitted up at the company's workshops, and will be placed on tbo lino in about two months time. The internal arrangements are to be an improrement on those in the prosent cars. The passage is to be larger, and on one side a table will run the whole length of the car, while on the other side will be a number of small tables as at present. — Post. In the Noxious Weeds Bill, the definition of ' noxious weeds' has been Amended so as to exclude the plants mentioned in schedule B. Amongst these are burdock, piri-pin, dog-rose, American cress, oxeyo daisy, Capo need, Yorkshire fog, dock or sorrel I, ergot, wild turnip, burr clovers, but tho seeds of nono of these will be permitted to be sown, and any person selling hay, chaff, &0., infected with these seeds will be liable to a pen« ally. The Bill prescribes the de*truc tion of weeds on certain days to be fixed, and inspectors are to see that this work is done. The local authority in any dis» trict may destroy weeds on land at the occupier's expense, a proportion of the cost m certain circumstances to be borne by the owner.
