The Frozen Meat Trade
. * IMPORTANT TO FARMERS. i_PKB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] London. July 27. Air J. H. Geddes, manager of the Fastoral Financial Association of New South Wales, has returned from exhaustive researches as to the prospects of extending the range of Australian export trade on the Continent, especially with regard to frozen meat. He states thatHerr Englehardt, Commissary-General in Berlin, erinced great interest in the matter. Hamburg and Bremen were also visited, and arrangements made to form a Ger* man company to develope tbe Australian produce trade. The army official in Brussels are favorably disposed towards the trade, and ask that samples of tbe meat be dent them. The Minister of War in France welcomed him iu a most courteous manner. Mr Geddes bad a long interview with General de Lambre, President of the Special Commission for provisioning the army, and he states that tbe interview will likely lead to a French Company opening in Australia to execute extensive army contracts in meat. Mr Geddes advocates that accredited Government representatives be appointed to all European capitals to afford information on the products of the colonies. He is arranging with tne London Dock Company to erect refrigerating stores in the vicinity of the meat market.
