Proposed Bridge at Apiti Ford
_*. The Government Surveyor, accompanied by Mr Hayns, engineer to the Pohangina Road Board, last week selected a site for the proposed bridge over the Oroua river at the Apiti ford. It appears most strange that the engineer to the Kiwitea Road Board, who knows more than any professional man in the district as to the most fitting site for the suggested bridge, has been entirely ignored in this matter, which is of equal importance to both boards, and the Kiwitea Board is certain to have to bear its proportion of the cost of constructing the said bridge.
