" Inquirer."— The troops present at tbe attack on the Gale Pab when the natives inflicted such a disastrous defeat on tbe English regular forces, consisted of the 48rd and 68th Light Infautry Regiments, and 'a flying column made up of detachments of the 14th, 65th and 70th Regiments, with a naval brigade of 200 seamen from the different ships of war off the coast. General Cameron had also with him eleven Armstrong Runs, tix mortars, and two howitzers, while the only arms the natives had were their rides and tomahawks.
