Manawatu Rugby Union
A meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union was held at O'Hallaran's Hotel, Bulls, on Thursday evening last. Present — Messrs Goodall (in the chair), Duncan (Palmerstou). Lloyd (Awahuri), Remington (Bulls), Desmond (Kea Kaha), and Dommett (Kaiwhaka). After considerable discussion, Mr Lloyd moved, That the Palmerston North Football Club be considered the winners of the third match— Palmerston v. Marton— as the Ist July was the date officially notified by the Rugby Union for the match. Sec onded by Mr Duncan and carried. A letter was then put in from the Palmerston Club offering to waive their claim to the third match— Palmerston v. Marton— on coudition that a further match be played between tbe swo Clubs on the Palmerston Show Ground on July 22nd. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Duncan, seconded by Mr Lloyd, to sanction tho playing of such match. On the motion of Mr Remington, seconded by Mr Desmond, Mr K. D. Duncan was transferred from the Palmerston Club to the Bulls Club. It was decided to hold tbe next meeting at Marton. This terminated the proceedings.
