[Per Press Association; ( Londow, juljr 8. Mr A. J. Balfour states that Mr Gladstone, at the end of 1885, privately urged him to introduce the Home Bale Bill. promising to support it, bathe declined the ofter. A guarantee fund has been opened in Dublin to oppose Home Rule ; L 25,000 has been subscribed, including L6OOO by Lord Iveagh. Mr Justice J. G. Gibson, of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court of Justice in Ireland, assert* that there is widespread intimidation and terror rampant in the County of Clare.
