The Strike at Sydney
(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Sydney, July 4. The strike has begun in real earnest, though many of the men are much disgusted at being called out by such a small majority. Thirty-three men belonging to various vessels have been arrested for refusing duty. The crew of the steamer Macleay wer*) sentenced to fourteen days. The steamship Tasmania sailed tonight, but the crew gave seven day,s notice of their intention to leave. The steamers Macleay and Flinders immediately shipped fresh crews. This Day. Sixty seamen have been arrested for | refusing to do duty. The engineers are not likely to join in the strike.
