Colyton Notes
The Directors of tbe Cheltenham Dairy Factory were here on Thursday last, and after inspecting the suggested site for the creamery near the the store, came to the conclusion that tbe drainage there was not good, owing to tbe proximity of the school, and that there would not be sufficient flow of water to keep the creek clean and sweet. The directors therefore decided to erect the creamery on the banks of the Mangaone, at the junction of the Spur and Taonui roads, where there is excellent drainage and a good supply of water. In the event of the creamery being, later on, converted into a factory, the site chosen is ali that could be desired. Mr W. G. Pearce wm authorised to purchase an acre of land on behalf of the company. The shares are being well subscribed for, and the success of the project is now assnred. Mr J. B. Pringle has the first lamb of the season, as far as wo can ascertain. Mr Dugald Henderson iptends rnnuing a bntcher's cart regularly into Feilding on •nd after next week.
