Tbe City of Canterbury, England, has obtained leave to appeal to the Privy Council against the decision of the Full Court with regard to the bequest of DrBeaney. The steamer Glancus got oway with a full crew at tbe reduced rate of wages notwithstanding that the'Seamens Union made every endeavor to prevent the men shipping. Adklaide, June 17. The ship Beaconsfield, of 1140 tons, bound from Puget Sound to Port Pirie with a cargo of timber, is ashore on the western side of Spencer Gully. Her cargo is being jettisoned. Brisdanb, June 17. A Deputation consisting ot 300 unemployed waited on the Government pointing out the tremendous destitution at present existing and urged the establishment of relief works. The Premier replied he was unable to hold out a hope of any increase in labour. The Sugar Journal estimates the Queensland crops at 80,000 tons.
