Assistance was promptly rendered, but the unfor* tunate young man expired in a few mo ments. The doctors attribute his death to heart disease. The deceased leaves a wife and small family, and everywhere in the city the affair is rery deeply regretted. The following team has been chosen to represent Feildiug in their match against the Kaiwhakas on Saturday next, on the Oval :— Pull back — J. Keen ; threequarters — liobinson, Bryce, A. Parr; halves — Richards, Fowler, R. Parr; forwards — Whisker (2), Wakehn, Giesen, Aitken. Pickering, Mines, and Belfit. A team of Unionists journeyed from Feildintj to Bulls yesterday to play a team of (hat town, and were defeated by nine points (a try, which was converted into a goal, nnd a goal kicked from the field) to it it. The game was fast throughout, and some good piny indulged in, though the home team's forwards were fur too heavy for their opponents, which could be seen in the scrums, but where the visitors lacked strength they made up by smnrtuess. After the match the visitors adjourned to Mr Boyle's Hotel, where a sumptious tea was awaiting them, and full justice was done to the good things provided. Altogether the boys seemed to enjoy their outing, and returned home well pleased with the treat" ment they had received. In the match Red Stars v. Albions (of Palmerston), ployed at Palmerston, the former proved victorious by two points (a try) to nil. A, Foster scored the try.
