[PROM OV& OWtt CO&BE&broBITT.] Tbe Waituna district was recently the scene of one of those interesting events which are of such rare occurrence there, viz : a wedding, Mr Edward Mason being united in the bonds, of matrimony; to. j Miss Maggie Benseman, tho daughter of/ one of our most respected settlers. The' t event took place at the residence' of the ' bride's parents, the ceremony being per-, formed by Pastor Myers, of Marton. 1 •' • At tho conclusion of the ceremony, the party adjourned to a shed, which had been tastefully decorated with feru* and evergreens, nnd where a most substantial spread had been provided, .to which about forty guests did ample justice. The presents were both numerous and useful, and formed quite a display. After the usual toasts .had been proposed* : and duly honored, the happy couple de- ; parted for their future home in thejHarhour Board Block, amidst a shower of rice and old boots. .;.'■■■; The Waitapu bushmen's terror, turned up at two places last week. On one occasion he was seen by some men on the banks of the Waituna river, who gave chase to him but lost him in the bush. He was next hear dof at Pakihikura, where a man was camped alone. The ' man went out to get a mate, and opi returning, found that his provisions had . . been stolen during his absence,
