The Waikomiti Murderer.
SCOTT MAKES A STATEMENT. (I'KH I'IiKSS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, May 15. The convict Scott having expressed a wish to make a statement to the Rev W. Calder, the latter suggested that it should be made in writing, and the document — a sheet of foolscap written on two sides — was accordingly produced by the prisoner, but Mr Calder bus declined to receive it. It is understood that the .statement, whi'e professing Scott's in* nocence, contains allegations seriously implicating other persons If tho statement is handed to the gaol authorities it will bo forwarded to Wellington.
