Tho usual monthly meeting of tho Women's Christian Temperance Uuion was held in the Presbyterian Church oil Tuesday last, Miss Dairy mple in the chair. The minutes of tho last meeting were read and confirmed. Resolved, To bold a series of entertainments towards procuring funds for building a Temperance Hall. It was originally intended to start coffee rooms, but, as that want has now been supplied in Feilding it is docidod to let tho matter drop. Report of money taken at the Public picnic on Easter Monday, aud accounts paid by tho Treasurer was read, the amount received being £19 15s sd, expenditure, £8 10s, leaving a balance of £11 5s sd. A letter from tho Superiatendant of tho Franchise petitions in Christchurch was read, urging those ladies who aro canvassiug for signatures to the Franchise petitions to be as diligent as possible, and expressing regret at tho death of Mr liallanco, who, the W.C.T.U. fool convinced, had the cause of womanhood suffrage- at heart, aud who intended bringing the Bill before tho House at an early stage of tho coming session. The meeting then closed with prayer.
