The United Farmers' Alliance report ac follows .* — We held a stock sale ot Ashurst on Saturday last. There were small entries owing to the fact that vendor* were unable to get their stock mustered owinjrto the wet weather. At our Palmerston sale on Thursday, ~e had very sma'l entries. the weather again interfering with mustering, so that a good deal uf the ■tock Advertised did not come forward. There are signs of improvement in tbe stock market, from the fact that there is considerable enquiry for good i stock and that sellers are prepared to hold rather than take low prices. We quote : — A t Ashurst — .Cattle — Two-year steers, £4 ss ; spring'ng brifers, £5 ; huifers in calf, £3. Sheep—Twotooth ewes (culls), 9s. At Palmerston. — Cattle — Milch cows, £4 10s to £6; weaner steers 335; Siieep — Full mouth ewes, 6s 2d ; shorn lamb.*, 4s. We have aiso to report the sale oi • small farm ot Asburst, partly im proved at £6 per acre.
