(pee pbess association.) London, April 22. Frozen mutton, first quality, 4 1-16J ; lamb, s}d. Beef— Forequarters, BJd; hindquarters, 4Jd. Wool is in strong demand, and there is increased competition for most sorts. American buyers are inactive. April 23. Tho total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 286,000 bales, of wnich 217,800 bales have been sold. The wool market is still firm, and no alteration has taken plaoe in prices. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have receiyed from their London office the following cable message, dated the 21st inst : — Frozen Meat — Mutton Market weak ; quotations unchanged since last telegram. Lamb market quiet. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth, per carcase, sj;d per lb. Beef market weak. New Zealand beef, forequarters, is worth Ssd per lb ; hindquarters, 4£d. Tallow — Market has a downward tendency. Fine mutton tallow is worth 30s per cwt ; good beef, 27s 6d.
