Feilding Borough Council
A special meeting of the members of the above Council was held on Thursday evening. Present : — Messrs Goodbehere (Mayor), Gould, Morey, Carthew, Lethbridge, Sandilands, Fowles, Thompson, and Chamberlain. The following resolutions were dealt with : — Proposed by the Muyor, seconded by Cr Lethbridge, That this Council do, by special order, adopt " The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1686," and amendments thereof. — Carried. Proposed by Cr Carthew, seconded by Cr Morey, That the report of the Public Works Committee be adopted.— Carried. Proposed by Cr Thompson, seconded by Cr Gould, That the tenders of E Robinson for filling in the drain in Manchester street and making a drain in West street for the sum of £50, and for forming and metalling Sherwill street for £11 ; and that of T. F. James for the removal of the pound for the sum of £8 12s 6d, be. accepted. — Carried. The report of the Pnblic Works Committee recommends that the flat fronting the railway line from Camden street to the Cemetery road be at once grubbed up.
