_ « London brokers nre bitterly complaining that the bulk of apples by the s.s. Ophir are rotten and their sale is ruining the trade. One broker has cancelled nn order for 40,000 cases of the Fifeskirc's Melbourne shipment. There has been six weeks drought in England. There are now eighteen cases of small pox in Perth. Many hundreds of houses have been burned in Hungarian villages, owing to the prevalence of fires through drought. It. is reported that Mrs May brick has again attempted to commit suicide.
