Home Politics
(PER I'BESfl ASSOCIATION.) London, April 19. Lord R. Churchill, speaking to the Home liulo Bill, said, that if Great Britain granted autonomy to Ireland, it would be only temporary, and sure to be ultimately abolished, leaving the country in a worse state than before. Mr Money, Chief Secretary for Ireland, said the Opposition could not argue, but could only prophesy. The policy of coercion had ruined Ireland. Its executive had proved the weakest in the world, though England's ablest statesmen had guided it. Great preparations are being made for a national church demonstration against the Welsh Church Suspensory Bill. Sermons on the subject are being preached in St. Pauls by the Archbishops of York and Canterbury.
