(PER PBESS ASSOCIATION). Nahkk, April 19. Mr Thomas Brown, of Owake, was severely burnt by tho upsetting of a lamp placed near his bed. He being an old man the case is somewhat critical. Frank Mulligan, a small farmer living near West Clive, and his mate, whose name is unknown, have been burnt to death in their cottage, which was discovered this morning totally destroyed. The expenditure has not yet been accurately determined, owing to store accouuts not being balanced, but it is certain the net revenue will exceed £445,000, which will give three per cent on the capital expended in construction. This is the highest per centage yet received, and the Commissioners attribute the satisfactory position to the increase of passenger traffic and all classes of goods.
