Seed Market.
The United Farmers' Alliance, Limited, report as follows : — Wheat. — Only a few small parcels have come forward for sale so far, as owing to the low prices ruling, farmers, in most cases, prefer leaving it in stack to threshing at present To-day's quotation.* are — Prime Tuscan and Velvet, 2s 2»1 to 3s 3d ; Hunter's white and red chafT. 3s 2d. Oats. — Several largo lines are offeriug and a few parcels are changing hands, but in many cases farmers are storing in hopes of better prices later. We have sold Spairowbills, 2s ; bright, long Tartars, 2s (sacks extra) ; and have enquiries for Canadians aud Duns at these prices. Barley. — Cape barley is offering for seed at 3s, ex store. Chevalier barlej, none offering. liyegrass. — The avitumu sowing is now plmost over, and owing to the showery weather many farmers have been unable to burn. From Southern advices received, we notice stocks on hand are small, and the market it firm, Prices me : Southern, 4s 3d to Is 6d ; local, 3s to 3s 6 I. Cocksfoot. — Clean, bright, farmers' samples. 2 4 ' dto 3d. Machine dressed, 3d to 3[d. ■
