Wanganui Education Board
The usual monthly meeting of the Education Board commenced last night. Present.— Messrs Notman (in the chair), G. 8. Undge, H. Sansou, nnd J. 11. Fry. Treasurer. — Mr G. Carson's resignation as treasurer was accepted , and it was resolved on the motion of Mr Fry. seconded by Mr Sansou, that Mr Notmau bo appoiutod treasurer. Election of Mombcrs. — Tho voting papora for the election of three members were opened and counted. Tho result was declared as follows : — John Notma», 0-1 votos ; G. d. Bridge, 58 ; it. E. Beckett 56 ; F. Pirani, 43. Tho first threo, being tho old member.", wore declared elected. Tho Board thou wont iuto committee to consider appoiutinouts. Sandoti.— Tho couiutttteo seloctod Mr D. \V. Lowo, of Warrongate. Coiiiirmedbtonoy (.'rook.— Mr Victor's resignation wan accepted. Palmerston North (Oolloge-streot).— Miss Meads was appoiutod as a socoud assistant and Miss Inuos third Boaconsiield.— Miss Phyu's appointment was confirmed. Birmingham. —M r Mclutyro/sappointment was coulirmod. Halcombe. — Miss Florcouco Staito to bo appointed cadet. Tho Board ihun adjournou" uutil 10 o'clock, this morning.

Co will have a notice in our next issue, informing tho public that a larjje shipment of fashionable nnd seasonable goods, consisting of all the winter requirements, are being marked oil' at their usual low prices, and will be open for inspection in a day or two.
