Messrs Freeman B. Jackson and Co, report on their Johnsonville sale as follows : — Cattle. — Fat cattle came forward in fair numbers, and sold irregularly from £7 to £8 12s 6d ; cows and heifere, £4 10s. Sheep. — Sheep were plentiful. Good qualities were on a par with recent rates, but indifferent and second class sheep suffered a decline of Is per head. Prime wethers made 14s 9d to 15s 3d ; medium, 13s; h#ht wethers, 12s Id; prime sort?, 12s 8d ; others, 9s Id to lls. For good shorn lambs there was brisk competition at 9$ 2d each. No pigs came to hand. Messrs Gorton and Son report on their Bulls sale on Wednesday last as follows: — Though the weather prevented some entries coming forward we yarded over 9,000 sheep and more cattle than were advertised and our yard-room was strained to accommodate all. Cattle sold well but there was no improvement in the recent drop in prices of sheep and though we sold a great many, several lines were turned out ucsold waiting for better prices. Our quotations are :— Cattle. — Fat bullocks, £6 12s ; fat cows, £4 10s ; forward cows, £4 ; store cows, £3 to £3 os ; 2-year steers, £3 9s 6d ; yearlings, £2 8s to £2 12a; Weanera, 32s to £2. Sheep.— Wethers, 10s 6d to lls 7d ; 2-th ewes, lls Id to 12s 8d ; liomnoy owes, full mouth, Ds ; forward ewes, 9s to 9s Id ; shorn lambs, 3s Id ; woolly, 4s lOd to os. Most of the lambs were passed vendors resoryos not being realised.
